ESP Engineering Mtg -- Mar 13, 2008
11:00 am MBARI: Birch, Scholin, Jensen, Roman
LLNL: Dzenitis, Bennett, Riot, Dean ; Tony absent
Teleconferences with LLNL
John feels MFB development has 3 stages:
- Make right what we already have; this is in the original scope of work of what we want
- Finalize some things before the last design
- analog boards need final (correct) values
- finalize the optics
- some heater tubing does not slide in easily; fix heater element
- minor changes in circuit board structure
- incorporate better connectors
- better machine heater cover package
- How do we make many of them? This ranges from
- LLN makes more of what they finalize
- specialty shops do subcontract work--subassemblies go to MBARI or LLNL for final assembly and checkout
- contract outside to make the blocks
LLNL wants out of the manufacturing loop. They are leaning toward
Subcontractors build subassemblies and we put together and test according to LLNL procedures. LLNL will put together the testing procedure.
Chris says we need 8 blocks.
During documentation of the assembly, if we assumed more active role in documentation of assembly and testing procedure, it would lower the cost.
John wonders if thermal profile is still rock-solid? We will get Addie to run one and provide ASAP.
He hopes to have SOW for additional work in 1 week.
